Let us introduce you to our second future champion…
MALLORY BURDETTE left Stanford University after her junior year in 2012 to turn pro at the age of 23. She wanted to build on the strong run she had at the 2012 U.S. Open where she reached the 3rd round. But she eventually fell to the then #3 Maria Sharapova.
The rest of 2012 was a roller coaster ride with her winning some matches but losing more. While she didn’t play at the Australian Open in 2013, she did enter the French Open for the first time where she enjoyed a first round success. However, she was eliminated in the second. Undaunted, she is looking forward to a more promising year in 2014.
Stay tuned as we feature up and coming champion female tennis players as we approach the 2014 tennis season!
