Erin Hamlin, Luge
Erin Hamlin, Luge

Erin Hamlin is a two-time Olympian who has competed since 2005. She won the gold medal in the women’s singles event at the 2009 FIL World Luge Championships in Lake Placid, New York which marked the first time in 99 races that a German woman was not the top finisher! She finished 12th in the women’s singles event at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, and competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver where she placed 16th in the luge competition, coming in as the highest placed American in the event.

Erin’s third attempt to make the U.S. Olympic team was realized when she recently secured her spot on the team. By doing so, she becomes the first U.S. woman luger to make three Olympic teams since Cameron Myler who made four from 1988-98. No U.S. woman has ever won an Olympic luge medal so Erin is positioned to make history in Sochi!

Stay tuned as Marketing Female Athletes brings you all the must-watch athletes for the Sochi Olympics
