Marketing Female Athletes will be spotlighting athletes in different sports leading up to the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Some of them you may have already heard about but there definitely will be many whom you’ve never heard about until here and now!
Week 27

Ida Sargent has been on cross country skis since she could walk, and now with two World Championships under her belt, she’s walking the walk of a world-class competitor. One of a handful of New Englanders competing for the U.S. Cross Country Team, Ida skied at Dartmouth for three years before making her U.S. Team debut in 2011. She continued her strong skiing in 2013 with several impressive results on the World Cup circuit, including three top-10s in team sprints, two top-10s in individual sprints and two top-20s in distance races. She was also a member of the 2013 World Ski Championships team, and capped her year by becoming the runner-up at the SuperTour Finals in the 1km classic sprint. Ida along with the rest of the team, featured in Week 20, hope to be the first American women to win an Olympic cross country medal at Sochi.
