Week 16

This weeks’ athlete is one you’re probably familiar with – but likely not for the Winter Olympics.

You may remember Lolo Jones when she rose to fame leaping hurdles in the 2012 Summer Olympics. But after the disappointment of not winning the gold medal that she was on track to secure before she collided with the last hurdle, she has decided that making a change would increase her chances for a gold medal. She is currently in training to compete at Sochi as a member of the bobsled team. This two-time Summer Olympian showed deep determination and strength of mind and body by recovering from spinal surgery in 2011 to compete in London the following year. She is showing that same resolve by chasing the gold in a completely different sport and being challenged by the Winter Olympics! Don’t think she’s not serious about striking gold, just look at what she has accomplished already: 2013, World Championship team event gold medalist (w/ driver Elana Meyers, John Daly, Noelle Pikus-Pace, Steven Holcomb, Curt Tomasevicz); 2013, World Cup team event bronze medalist (w/ driver Elana Meyers, Matt Antoine, Katie Uhlaender, Steven Holcomb, NicTaylor); 2012, World Cup silver medalist (w/ Jazmine Fenlator). Looks like she is ready to push off to success in 2014!

Stay tuned as Marketing Female Athletes brings you all the must-watch athletes for the Sochi Olympics
