Marketing Female Athletes will be spotlighting athletes in different sports leading up to the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Some of them you may have already heard about but there definitely will be many whom you’ve never heard about until here and now!
This week, we’re letting you know about someone you probably already know. She’s a three-time Olympian and made her World Cup debut in 1999 – at the age of just 15.
Julia Mancuso is not only a three-time Olympian and the reigning 2010 Winter Olympic silver medalist in the downhill and combined, but look at what else she has attained in her illustrious career: a gold medal in the Women’s Giant Slalom at the 2006 Olympics, fifteen World Cup Super G medals, eleven World Cup downhill medals, five World Cup Giant Slalom medals and three World Cup Super Combined medals. She’s also the seven-time U.S. Giant Slalom champion, four-time U.S. Super G Champion, and four-time U.S. Combined Champion. Not only does she hold the most U.S. championship titles (16) by any man or woman, she is also an entrepreneur and has her own underwear clothing line (blue is her favorite color)! Only another gold medal in Sochi can top all of this!
